Above Sea Level is a magazine and events platform designed to start a different type of conversation around wine. By looking at wine in the context of food, design, people and places our hope is that it becomes an easier, more natural part of our conversation.
This is something we explore through our magazine, events and project collaborations with other like minded people, brands and initiatives.
Our aim is to connect people with wine in an authentic, memorable way. We work with wine, food and lifestyle brands and publishers on a project-by-project basis and specialise in content creation, project development and event strategy. This allows us to spend time getting to know your brand or business and to create something that is right for you.
Depending on the nature of the project, we have a network of talented people to pull from. This includes writers, photographers, designers, sommeliers, chefs, creative agencies, developers and film makers. We are also happy to work closely with your internal team or existing agencies.
By bringing together the right people for the right project, we make sure that we are creating the best work in the most intelligent way.

Above Sea Level was founded by Aimee Hartley. Over the last decade Aimee has developed projects for lifestyle, wine brands & drinks distributors in the UK and US. Whether through events, apps, content creation or editorial, her work focuses on finding creative ways to engage people around wine. She is particularly interested in how wine overlaps with other areas of our lives - at the dinner table, on our travels and with the people that we meet - and believes these experiences and stories help us to form a richer narrative around what we’re drinking.
Recent projects include producing the first issue of the Above Sea Level magazine, creating a highly acclaimed wine app for Bibendum Wine, Plonk, and developing a content platform, Flavour First for English luxury wine brand, Nyetimber. Beyond being the Editor of Above Sea Level, she also contributes to wine and cultural publications such as Noble Rot, Alquimie and Hole & Corner.
